How to get there

Arrival at
PADANG AIRPORT
There is only one point of entry to get to the Mentawai Islands: Padang City airport.
2.
Fast Ferry from Padang
TO THE MENTAWAI ISLANDS (TUA PEJAT)
The ferry departs at 7am on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and at 6am on Mondays. We always advise our guests to arrive in Padang at least one day before the ferry departs.
3.
Transfer from Tua Pejat to
AWERA RESORT
Once in Tua Pejat, guests will be picked up by our staff and taken by speedboat to the Resort, which is a ten-minute crossing away.
Transfer service
Awera Resort offers an all-inclusive Padang-Mentawai transfer service:
1.
Our transfer service starts INSIDE Padang airport. Forget about carrying your luggage during the arrival or departure, we will take care of everything.
2.
Guests opting for our TRANSFER SERVICE are picked up at the airport and taken to their hotel ( Gran Zuri Padang) for the night.
3.
Awera Resort Transfer service INCLUDES Hotel & breakfast in Padang ( superior room) on the way in and on the way out.
4.
The following day you’ll be picked up at your hotel and taken to the city port, where the Fast Ferry leaves for the Mentawai Islands, a three-hour crossing away (Fast ferry tickets included).
5.
Once in Tua Pejat, you’re picked up by our staff and taken by speedboat to the Resort, which is a ten-minute crossing away.
6.
When your stay come to an end, we’ll take care of your return journey and make sure you arrive on time for your flight.

Illness
There is no major issue on the Islands with regard to specific illnesses or diseases. However, we advise our guests to consult their doctor or travel clinic in their own country before traveling.
2.
Tsunamis
The Mentawai Islands are situated in an area subject to seismic activity. In the event of an earthquake and possible tsunami, there is high ground within a few minutes of the Resort, easily accessible via the evacuation route (you will be provided with a map of the route). We also have in place a warning system that alerts us immediately to potential threats.
3.
Travel insurance
For your personal safety, travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage is mandatory. In the case of an emergency, we will help you contact your insurance company.
